Over 200 mph in a 210 hp taildragger. Woowwwoooo. I looovvvve that
crossflow Continental engine.

Nice site, by Paul Poberezny.

BTW, Stan Shannon's O-235-powered RV-6A is in _Sport Aviation_ this month.

On the cover of SA is a Glastar with a streamlined LOM nose. The
interesting character who built this airplane had a midlife crisis, quit
shoeing horses, got his degree in computers and built this airplane, hanging
the supercharged LOM on her for sea-level horsepower in the Colorado
Rockies.

It seems that there are enough design changes from the original that we
won't know how fast this one will go until it flies.

What is so special about 200 mph on 210 hp? The RV-7 should have a cruise
speed of about 206 mph on 200 hp according to Van. The original O-O
Special is reported in to cruise at 200 to 210 mph on 225 hp.

Van's performance claims have stood up well under independent testing -
e.g. the CAFE Foundation.
